Aspen Community Church's Kenya outreach is now in its 16th year. During that time, we have helped provide clean water systems, so critical to life and health, to thousands of students and teachers at more than 100 schools in Meru, Nakuru, and Samburu, as well as three women’s villages. Other projects have included school libraries and other improved school facilities, high school and college scholarships, emergency aid, and more, all accomplished in collaboration with our inspiring Kenya partners. Challenge Grant Partnering in Education & Aid for Kenya (PEAK) is pleased to announce the exciting new PEAK Challenge Grant, in support of Deborah Fountains School near Meru, Kenya, being made possible by contributions from several generous donors. Some Background: PEAK began constructing Deborah Fountains School six years ago, in a remote, rural area that formerly had no school. We celebrated the grand opening of two preschool classrooms in January 2020 - then had to close for eight months during the COVID pandemic. But we remained undaunted, adding new classrooms every year, and now have classes from playgroup and preschool through grade four, with almost 100 pupils!
The Goal: We currently have commitments totaling $16,000. The fundraising goal is another $16,000 in matching donations, to equal a total of $32,000.
The Projects: • Two new classrooms to accommodate our growing enrollment - $15,000 • A new security fence and gate for a safer environment - $5,500 • School furniture for the additional classrooms - $2,000 • Additional playground equipment - $1,500 • A small minivan to help transport children who live longer distances away - $8,000.
Time Frame: Three months, to conclude by the end of November 2025. How to support: Donations of any size can be made by check, using the enclosed return envelope. You may also make a secure online donation on the PEAK website, https://aidforkenya.org/. Simply click on the “Donate” button on any of several pages.
