Baptisms

Have you considered baptism? Perhaps you wanted to get baptized but haven't found the time and place that works for you? Or maybe your child is ready to be baptized.

Baptism in the Methodist tradition is considered a sacrament—a sacred act commanded by Christ and a means of receiving God's grace. Methodists believe that baptism marks the beginning of a person's journey of faith, symbolizing repentance, forgiveness, and incorporation into the community of believers. It is an outward sign of an inward grace, signifying a cleansing from sin and a new birth in Christ.
Methodists practice baptism by sprinkling, pouring, or immersion and welcome both infants and adults to the sacrament, affirming that God's grace is available to all regardless of age. They believe that baptism is not repeated, as its spiritual significance endures. They do practice a “Remembrance” of one’s baptism, where the individual interacts with the water rather than the pastor. While baptism itself does not guarantee salvation, it is viewed as a significant step in responding to God's love and as a means of entry into the Christian life and the church community.

Aspen Community Church is a progressive congregation with a commitment to community and outreach, a love of music, learning, and traditional worship. Aspen Community Church is a Reconciling Congregation of The United Methodist Church.  We welcome all people regardless of race, nationality, economic status, citizenship, sexual orientation, gender identity, or any defining factor you can think of for which people suffer bias and discrimination. All are welcome.
